How long have you been doing cakes?
I have loved to bake all of my life, but I took my first decorating classes in 1982 and started designing cakes for clients later that year.
How many wedding cakes do you do?
I average about 60 weddings a year.
How much does a wedding cake cost?
Current prices are available upon request. My wedding cakes start at $6.00 per serving depending on flavor and design. When paring a smaller version of a wedding cake with several options of sheet cakes, which are less expensive, most brides find that I have something for every budget.
How and when is the wedding cake set up?
I deliver most of the wedding cakes that I design. I arrive approximately one hour before the wedding reception is due to start for most set-ups. In some cases, clients choose to pick up their own cake, but I do not recommend that.
Is there a charge for delivery?
Yes, depending on the location of the wedding reception. My delivery charge covers my mileage to the reception and the set-up time required for your wedding cake as well as in some cases bridge toll and parking fees.
What about fresh flowers?
I recommend the most cost effective choice for the purchase of flowers for your cake. If you choose to have your florist supply the flowers, I prefer to be the one that decorates the cake with them. Also, they will need to be delivered to the reception site by the time that I deliver the cake, to insure that I will have ample opportunity to put the finishing touches on your wedding cake.
Do you have references?
Yes, over the years, many of my clients have offered to serve as a reference for me. I would be more than happy to share their names and numbers with you upon request.
